In the busyness of everyday life, it can seem like there’s no time for self-care. Yet taking care of our bodies and minds is an important part of our personal growth. Meditation, mindful movement, and breathwork help us bridge any separation we might perceive between our bodies and minds.

The latest online course from Lion’s Roar features insight meditation practitioner and teacher JoAnna Hardy.

The Buddhist word metta is often translated into English as “Loving-Kindness”,  this course explores the practice of metta that offers an opportunity to develop inner calm and focus. This centuries-old meditation technique can be a tool for those struggling with the suffering of the world. It is a way to make sense of the helplessness and turn it into action. It is a powerful tool for reflection and action in situations where you may feel helpless.

Learn how to cultivate more compassion and kindness – towards yourself and the world – in this new online course from Lion’s Roar.

Imagine a World with More Love
…It Begins with You.

How to Cultivate a Loving Heart: The Buddhist Practice of Metta is taught by JoAnna Hardy, meditation practitioner and teacher. Together with Lion’s Roar, she guides you through all you need to know to begin and deepen the practice of loving-kindness meditation.

Renew your spirit with movement,

breathwork, and meditation.

In 5 jargon-free segments, famed movement innovator Cyndi Lee will guide you in making self-care a vitalizing part of your day—even if you just have 5 minutes. You’ve probably noticed that mindfulness practices have been taken up by all kinds of people lately. That’s because mindfulness requires no specific beliefs or any specific spiritual background; everyone is welcome to benefit from Taking Refuge in Your Body. Plus, there’s good reason to believe that mindfulness can work wonders for both our physical health and mental health. As a 2018 Lion’s Roar magazine article notes, “recent studies suggest that mindfulness may have impacts on our hearts, brains, and immune systems, among other potential effects,” and can “play a supportive role in health care by helping people to cope with pain, stress, anxiety, and depression.” (It may be contraindicated in some cases; please seek treatment if you need it.)

Yoga classes aren’t your thing?

While Cyndi Lee is well known as a yoga teacher, this is not a yoga course. Anyone wishing to make friends with their body while incorporating self-care into their daily life will take comfort in Lee’s restorative approach to bodywork and meditation. (So if yoga classes are your thing and you’re interested in learning about meditation, you’ll love this course too.)

Not that flexible?

You don’t need to be! This course was created for all ages and body types, including those with limited mobility. If you can sit in a chair and stand on your feet, you will find the movements liberating. Besides, there’s more than yoga-like exercises here. You’ll also learn breathwork that calms the nervous system, empowering you to align body and mind throughout the day.
